There isn't one standard treatment plan that I give to every patient. Recommendations are based on your health concerns, medical history, goals, preferences and what is appropriate for you.
Your care may include:
Clinical Nutrition
Food can be an important part of supporting your health, but nutrition shouldn't feel restrictive or impossible to maintain.
We'll look at your current diet and develop practical, individualized recommendations that support your health goals while still fitting into your everyday life.
Lifestyle Medicine
Sleep, stress, movement and our everyday routines can have a significant impact on both physical and emotional health.
Together, we can identify realistic changes that support your health without making your life feel like one endless wellness routine.
Nutritional Supplements
When appropriate, targeted vitamins, minerals and other nutritional supplements may be recommended based on your individual health needs.
My goal isn't to give you a cupboard full of supplements. Recommendations should have a clear purpose and form part of your overall treatment plan.
Botanical Medicine
Botanical medicine uses plant-based medicines to support health.
When appropriate, evidence -informed botanical medicines may be incorporated into your treatment plan, with careful consideration of your medical history, medications, other supplements and potential interactions.
Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a system of medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. It looks at health through a different lens, considering how symptoms and patterns throughout the body may be connected rather than looking at each concern in isolation.
As part of a TCM assessment, I may look at your symptoms alongside areas such as sleep, digestion, energy, stress, menstrual health and emotional wellbeing, as well as traditional diagnostic tools such as examining the tongue and pulse. In TCM, these findings are used to identify patterns of imbalance involving concepts such as Qi (energy), Yin and Yang, which help guide the selection of acupuncture points.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterile, single-use needles into specific points on the body. Your treatment is individualized, two people coming in with the same concern may receive different acupuncture treatments depending on their symptoms and overall TCM presentation.
I may incorporate acupuncture and TCM principles into naturopathic care for concerns including stress and tension, muscular pain, sleep difficulties, digestive concerns, menstrual and hormonal health, fertility and overall wellbeing.
Where appropriate, this traditional approach can be used alongside modern, evidence-informed naturopathic and conventional medical care as part of your overall treatment plan.
Counselling
Sometimes the most helpful part of an appointment is having the time and space to talk.
Supportive counselling can be incorporated into naturopathic visits to address stress, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle changes and the connection between mental and physical health.
Care Built Around You
You won't necessarily need all these treatments, and you shouldn't!
Your care should be based on what you need, what is safe and appropriate, what the evidence supports and what is realistic for your life.
My goal is for you to understand your options and feel involved in the decisions we make about your health.
